2025 Chihuly Studio Edition River Rock Macchia

Dale Chihuly’s Macchia series perhaps best encompasses his statement that “I never met a color I didn’t like.” Macchia feature bold, unexpected color combinations on the exterior, while strongly contrasting—and frequently monochromatic—shades make up the interior.

The 2025 River Rock Macchia Studio Edition is both an example of the audacious color combinations that define Chihuly’s Macchia series and the aquatic themes that inspire him. Shades of blue, mauve, white, violet, gold, and celadon give the impression of stones under running water, while the organic form emphasizes its movement. A brilliant chartreuse lip wrap arrestingly delineates the multicolored exterior from the seemingly molten scarlet interior.
