Learning of an orangutan family chased from their tree home and subsequently shot by lumberjacks was the last straw for Sandy & Art Phillips. Between the impact of deforestation on wildlife and climate change, they knew it was time to help reforest the earth. Hence, 1 Tree Mission® was born. Launching with six styles of adjustable handmade semi-precious stone bead bracelets on recycled cord, 1 Tree Mission®, through its worldwide partners, will plant one tree for each bracelet purchased. The organization has committed to planting at least 125,000 trees in year one, which will help remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and ensure future homes for wildlife. This bracelet represents The Black Walnut Tree, which can grow to over 125 ft tall. The bark, roots, leaves and nuts all have medicinal properties, and its wood is treasured for its hardness and beautiful grain. This bracelet contains Black Lavastone, Agate, Sodalite and Emperor Jasper.
